Abstract :
This paper discusses shunt active power filters for harmonics reduction. The shunt active power filter is simulated in MATLABI SIMULINK. Study and simulation of instantaneous power theory is also presented. Instantaneous power theory is then applied to shunt active power filter to reduce harmonics distortion. The system with rectifier is simulated and p-q theory for shunt active power filter is validated for harmonic reduction.
