Abstract
In this paper, discrete predictive control is proposed for the 4th order step down dc-dc converter. The state-space averaging technique is used to model the converter system. A predictive control law is derived, so as to track the inductor current to the predefined reference value within one switching cycle. Further the same control law is capable of regulating the load voltage without any stability problems. The proposed control concept is verified through PSIM simulations.
