Abstract :
With the aim of speeding up coding procedure, it is of great importance to improve the efficiency of motion estimation, which is time-consuming in video coding. A strategy of fast searching based on the fact that moving objects maintain their size and direction in neighboring frames is proposed. Firstly, the starting point in searching is located with the spatial and temporal relativity; Then the searching template is adaptively selected based on object´s motion-invariance in extremely short periods; At last, the temporal cost of searching is further decreased with the exclusion of outliers using triangle inequality. The experiments validate the performance of the algorithm presented.
