Abstract
A new generation of turn-off DRD switches has been developed by FID GmbH permitting forming of nanosecond voltage pulses with amplitude of several hundreds of kilovolts and energy in pulse of hundreds of joules with efficiency of about 80%. At the same time have been developed new turn-on FID switches with operating voltage from several tens to several hundreds of kilovolts with peak current of tens of kiloamperes. Achieved switching time of new FID switches is 40-50 ps.
