  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. We have constructed a self-mode-locked Cr:LiSAF laser pumped by a single self-injection-locked semiconductor laser, which requires less than 75 mW of pump power to produce sub-100-fs pulses. The mode-locked operation was highly stable, as evidenced by a streak camera evaluation in the subpicosecond regime previously accessible only with phase-locked lasers.
