Abstract
This paper discussed a design of the guided wave radar level meter based on time domain reflection(TDR) principle, which utilized equivalent time sampling technique to conduct high resolution measurement for the reflection time intervals of radar pulse. The time resolution reached 10ps range, archived high precision level measurement. The key techniques of generating step-delay sampling pulse signal and processing reflected echo signal were introduced. Hardware design were discussed. Due to the unique advantages of the guided wave radar level meter, wide applications are expected in petroleum, chemical and shipbuilding industries.
