Abstract :
In order to improve load dynamic performance and reduce the second order line frequency ripple of output voltage of power factor correction (PFC) converter, quadratic boost PFC converter is proposed and studied in this paper. Four operation modes of quadratic boost converter (CCM-CCM, CCM-DCM, DCM-CCM and DCM-DCM) are discussed. The dynamic performance and output voltage ripple of quadratic DCM-DCM boost PFC converter are studied. Compared with traditional DCM boost PFC converter, quadratic DCM-DCM boost PFC converter reduces the second order line frequency ripple of output voltage, with smaller peak input inductor current and better load dynamic performance. Experimental results are provided to verify the theoretical analysis results.
