Summary form only given. We demonstrate Cerenkovian SHG enhancement with an all-UV-induced periodic or chirped nonlinear optical (NLO) susceptibility /spl chi//sup (2)/ structure and slab or channel waveguides, and compare the conversion efficiency with that obtained by schemes based on contact-electrode poling.
