Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated a sub-100-fs Ti:sapphire-based amplifier system capable of producing over 5 W of average power at 1-kHz repetition rate, which was the highest reported power to our knowledge. This 5-fold increase of power will open up more opportunities for researchers in nonlinear frequency conversion, biological and medical imaging, and more.
