Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated the suitability of periodically poled RbTiOAsO/sub 4/ (RTA) in high pulse-energy optical parametric oscillators (OPOs). The 3-mm-thick RTA crystal is to our best knowledge the thickest ferroelectric crystal that has been periodically poled so far.
