Abstract
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated chirped pulse amplification (CPA) of 135-fs pulses using a fiber stretcher. Simulations and experiment indicate that a grism pair (grating/prism pair) can compensate for very large amounts of material dispersion in a compact geometry, facilitating CPA of sub-100-fs pulses in simple and robust systems.
