  • Abstract
Unified Modeling Language is proposed as an effective framework for constructing simulation models of hybrid manufacturing systems. The plant processes jobs through a network of machines and buffers. Machines are represented as hybrid automata in which continuous time dependent operating conditions are modeled through ordinary differential equations. Machines are connected through buffers. Modularity, versatility and maintenance of the model are ensured by the use of the unambiguous Unified Modeling Language. The simulation model is translated in the Matlab environment; some implementation features are discussed
