Abstract
This paper presents a new method for tuning the parameters of a PID controller for power system load frequency control. A systematic tuning method is developed. This approach leads to a robust controller design using quantitative feedback theory (QFT). The results of this new load frequency controller are compared in simulation with a conventional PI one from the literature for a single-machine-infinite-bus system
