Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this contribution, we present a new technique for efficient frequency conversion in cascaded crystals. By using this technique up to 20 mW of coherent diffraction-limited cw 491-nm light was generated by frequency doubling a monolithically integrated master oscillator power amplifier in a cascade of three KNbO/sub 3/ crystals with an overall conversion efficiency of 3.5%/W.
