Abstract
Summary form only given. Our technique directly gives the Raman gain without requiring a tunable probe, calibration or absolute measurement of Raman signal. We send intense square shaped pulses near 1550 nm into 1 length of fiber and measure the stimulated Raman signal as a function of pulse duration.
