Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper; we suggest a polarisation-optoelectronic stacked integration technique to construct a compact 2D cellular automaton module with optical weighted interconnections. Using optical thresholding for table lookup, therefore, all cellular logic operators can be realised easily by using different threshold levels. The module is assembled by the simple functional building blocks like calcite plates and quartz plates. It will be shown that the module is very simple in configuration and has a high overall efficiency.
