Abstract
This paper introduces a new noise model for the generation of synthetic fingerprints. Starting from several visual observations about noise in real fingerprints, the limits of the uniform noise generation adopted in our previous work are pointed out and a new model able to create realistic coherent noise is proposed. The results are very promising: the new images generated are definitely more realistic than those obtained with the original method.
