Abstract
This paper presents an option in solving the problem with micro-assembly, i.e. long travel range with very high accuracy demand. A flexure-based parallel mechanism passive planer was designed to accommodate manipulator of lower accuracy. The planer was designed and fabricated for the purpose of optical fiber insertion, which was arbitrarily chosen. Experiment results were shown for the purpose of comparison with the computer simulated model. Kinematics modeling and parameters relationships are to be established further in future works.
