Abstract :
An ultra-wideband (UWB) elliptical monopole fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is proposed. It is of low profile and very compact size (30×33.1×1.6mm3). Measured and simulated return loss at the input along with simulated radiation patterns are presented. The effect of the length of the CPW is investigated. An outline for the design aspect and analysis are provided. Parametric studies have also been carried out for the antenna. It is demonstrated that this antenna is suitable for UWB applications.
