Abstract :
A rising interest of wireless communication from simple data transfer to multimedia leads to an increasing demand for high data rates transmission. Therefore, the ultra wideband (UWB) system with its inherently high bandwidth could be a possible solution. The antenna design for UWB signal is one of the main challenges, especially when low-cost, geometrically small and radio efficient structures are required for typical applications. This work presents a novel slot bow-tie antenna (patent applied for) for the frequency range of 3.1-10.6 GHz. The antenna is designed on Teflon substrate and fed with 50 ohms microstrip transmission line.
