  • Abstract
The limited scan (or coverage) phased array is often used to illuminate a reflector (or lens) as the radiating aperture. Since the reflector can not capture all of the feed array energy, the antenna basically is a lossy system. In addition, it is not applicable to small antennas. The phased array to be addressed in this paper is a "hardwired" and "lossless" phased array. For simplicity purposes, the author considers a one-dimensional linear array of eight elements (for a base station antenna). A numerical example is used to illustrate the phased array design.
