Abstract :
In this paper, analysis of motional eddy currents in solid iron using magnetic equivalent circuits method is presented. The proposed method can accurately model the motional eddy currents by only using magnetic circuits and the scalar potential. A simple model of brake is used for simulation. Comparison of the simulation results with the two-dimensional finite element method ones proves the capability of the proposed method in modeling the motional eddy currents with high accuracy.
