Abstract :
In this article, following the Young´s ideas, the physical optics (PO) radiation integral of the Herztian dipole wave scattered by a planar surface, is decomposed analytically by modified edge representation (MER) Line Integrals. It is shown, for the first time, numerically and analytically that two kinds of MER line integrals, that is, along the periphery of the scatterer and around the inner stationary phase point (SPP), correspond to the diffraction and the GO field, respectively.
