Abstract
A detailed model of multiple-input multiple-output systems is used to explore the impact of receiver front-end signal coupling on the communication capacity. Representative examples using a 2 × 2 system in a simulated multipath environment demonstrate the dramatic capacity degradation that can occur even for modest signal coupling levels.
