Abstract :
Summary form only given. Experiments were performed with laser arrays based on InGaAs-GaAs quantum well laser structure with epitaxially grown Bragg mirrors. The arrays were fabricated by spatially modulating the top laser mirror reflectivity, by the deposition of highly reflecting metal on the laser elements, and less reflecting metal on the interlasers part of the array, forming a quasi-gain-guided array. Theoretical modeling was based on the rate equation approximation of the 2D coupled semiconductor laser array. For the coherence analysis we dwelled with the phase equation around the steady-state solution, while for the stability analysis the complete set of variables; amplitude, carriers, and phase, were tracked. The transfer of coherence was examined by formulation of the small signal transfer function.
