Abstract
Summary form only given. Optical parametric generation has been one of the most effective techniques in the generation of broadly tunable wavelengths in the visible and infrared (IR) in the femtosecond regime. We have shown a BaB/sub 2/O/sub 4/ based optical parametric amplifier (OPA) capable of generation of 1 mJ of combined signal and idler energy at a repetition rate of 1 kHz and maintaining a pulse width of less than 100 fs.
