Abstract
Summary form only given. Coherent antiStokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) is performed on nitrogen gas (N/sub 2/) using the tunable signal wave from a pulsed optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on /spl beta/-barium borate (BaB/sub 2/O/sub 4/). The continuously tunable output frequencies and optical bandwidth of this OPO are controlled by injection seeding at the idler wavelength with single-mode radiation from an external-cavity diode laser (ECDL).
