Abstract :
Summary form only given. Laser transition on the sequence-bands of CO/sub 2/ was first reported by Reid and Siemsen (1976,77). A number of studies have been carried out in various systems such TEA and waveguide lasers. Because the frequencies of sequence lines lie between regular lines, they can be obtained only by using cavities of good wavelength discrimination or with an intracavity hot CO/sub 2/ cell. In considering the advantages exhibited by RF-excited waveguide laser systems, it will be preferable to have the sequence-band waveguide lasers operated with RF discharge. In this paper, we report the preliminary result of a system with RF excitation, which yields several sequence lines oscillation.
