Abstract
Summary form only given. The use of thermal gratings for conjugation offers several important advantages, among these its low threshold, tolerance for high average power, and ability to operate with a relatively short coherence length. This paper describes conjugation of highly aberrated 1-ms pulses using a loop scheme incorporating a Nd:YAG amplifier. We call this scheme a thermal nonlinearity loop (TNL).
