Abstract
Summary form only given. We synchronize two passively modelocked Er:doped fiber lasers of pulse width 4.5 ps by using a novel acousto-optic modulator and grating scheme. By measuring the cross-correlation of the two lasers, the interlaser jitter is extracted to be 1.3 times the pulse width. The temporal locking of lasers is important for telecommunication networks, measurement systems, and spectroscopy.
