Abstract :
Summary form only given. Magnetic properties of thin films are interesting due to their ability to demonstrate various magnetic field induced nonlinear-optical effects, such as magnetization induced SHG, nonlinear optical Kerr effect: variations of SHG anisotropy in the presence of a magnetic field, etc. In this paper we use the method of SHG to study magnetization induced variations of quadratic nonlinear properties of thin garnet films and propose a mechanism of these effects.
