Abstract
Summary form only given. We present experimental and theoretical results on ultrashort soft-X-ray harmonic generation in gases, using an amplified Ti:sapphire excitation laser with a 25-fs pulsewidth. The laser beam is focused by a curved mirror onto a gas target to generate the high harmonics, and the spectra are taken with use of a grazing-incidence soft-X-ray spectrometer.
