Abstract :
Summary form only given. The authors have proposed significant enhancement of the SHG power even in the Cerenkov-radiative scheme by inducing a periodic or chirped corrugation into nonlinear optical (NLO) susceptibility, and have successfully demonstrated with organic copolymer poled by the method of contact electrode, together with theoretical treatments. In the present paper we shall demonstrate the Cerenkovian SHG enhancement with all-UV-induced periodic or chirped NLO second order susceptibilty structure and slab or channel waveguides, and shall compare conversion efficiency with those obtained by the schemes based on the contact-electrode poling.
