Abstract :
Pareto (1927) optimality is defined as the appropriate notion of optimality for resolving the conflict that arises in a multiclass telecommunications environment. The flow control problem in which each class of users has as a performance objective the maximization of throughput under an average delay constraint is considered. The nonlinear multiobjective problem that arises is transformed to a linear multicriteria program and is solved by standard techniques. Several properties of the efficient points are analyzed through a single queue example
