Abstract :
A direct (preamplifier-less) signal injection is a prerequisite for the development of a high density mosaic pyro/ CCD retina array in a planar configuration. The direct injection concept has been tested using a single element SBN detector, 2×10 element PVF2array and 2×16 element LiTaO3array and a 16 channel Si CCD multiplexer. The CCD is operated in a gate modulated subthreshold integration mode, and the signal to noise of the pyroelectric signal (the D value) is measured after the CCD readout.
