Abstract :
A two-dimensional analitical model for the vertical multijunction edge-illuminated solar cell is presented. The model takes into account the presence of a surface recombination in the front and rear faces of the cell, as well as the presence of a hig-low junction opposite to the heteropolar junction. The model gives the collection efficiency of the cell as a function of the cell technological parameters and the absorption coefficient of the silicon for the considered wavelength.
