Abstract :
Summary form only given. Large area single crystal films of N-(4-Nitrophenyl)-L-Prolinol (NPP) were prepared by a modified shear method. The method of direct coating was used to deposit electrodes on the surface of the single crystal film. Electrodes with different orientations with respect to the charge transfer axis of the molecules were deposited and the electro-optic effect was measured for different electric field orientations. The relationship between electric field orientation and electro-optic effect in these films was determined.
