Abstract
Summary form only given. We give a detailed analysis of the optical response of a nonlinear Fabry-Perot resonator under the influence of saturation, recombination, and diffusion. We show that both stationary and moving patterns may occur in a resonator filled with a nonlinear defocusing saturable material having a finite response time.
