  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In this report we present the results of experimental investigation of the influence of the perturbation phase on the scaling law for the amplification of output power at the perturbation frequency near the period doubling bifurcation (PDB) point. Our results show a /spl Pi/-periodical dependence of the scaling law on the perturbation phase. We also present experimental evidence of the deformation of the bifurcation diagram resulting from the resonant perturbation. We demonstrate that small resonant perturbations at a specific phase can produce a shift of the bifurcation diagram in all bifurcation points. Our experiments were performed on a CO/sub 2/ laser with modulated losses via an acousto-optic KRS-5 modulator inserted in the laser cavity.
