Abstract :
Summary form only given. In the present paper we report the results of an investigation of recently synthesized YAG:V/sup 3+/ crystal. Its peculiarity is the presence of wide intense DC absorption bands in the region 0.8-1.5 /spl mu/m. In this spectral range YAG:V/sup 3+/ crystals were used successfully as passive Q switches in lasers.
