Abstract
Summary form only given. The propagation of short, high-powered pulses in single-mode optical fibers is determined by a number of physical effects. The Raman effect is among the main ones. An approximate description of the Raman effect in fibers has been given by Gordon (1986). In this paper we analyse soliton-like stationary solutions of the equation derived by Gordon.
