Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this talk, the theoretical description of the coupled spatiotemporal dynamics on short time and space scales is discussed and illustrated with several examples of ultrashort pulse propagation in passive and active bulk semiconductor material, where polariton interference and high intensity pulse breakup is investigated and the influence of pulse propagation effects on coherent experiments is discussed.
