Abstract :
Summary form only given. We measure the spectral and temporal characteristics for 0.6-ps and 3.6-ps pulses propagating through a semiconductor laser amplifier (SLA) near 1550 nm. In addition to the spectral shifts reported, we observe strong temporal distortions for 0.6-ps pulses.
