Abstract :
A variety of InP-based photodetectors are under development for wideband (GHz) applications. This paper reviews progress in detector technology development and applications. Emphasis is placed on avalanche photodiodes and PIN photodetectors for fiber communications and optoelectronic switches for signal processing.
