Abstract
A three terminal double heterostructure opto-electronic switch designated the LEDISTOR is described. The LEDISTOR is used together with the DOES to form a capacitively coupled optical logic gate which is dynamic in implementation of the inversion function. The dynamic logic gate and the use of optical interconnect are a potential solution to the problems facing VLSI circuit growth.
