Abstract
Electron gun design has fared well with the advent of high speed digital computers and complex models, but the final word as always comes from the measuring of a gun´s physical properties. Before using a gun design, it is desirable to determine characteristics such as the axial location of the beam minimum and it´s diameter as well the general current distribution. This paper will describe the techniques used to obtain three dimensional data and a concept used to eliminate much of the noise and ambiguities involved with older analyzer designs.
