Abstract
The experience of Thomson-CSF in the manufacture of millimeter carcinotrons (mm CO) in a range of frequencies between 60 and 1000 GHz with relative electronic bandwidths on the order of 15 % and recent R&D efforts have resulted in the construction of a new tube operating at a center frequency of 94 GHz to cover the transmission bard of WR10 waveguide with an output power of several watts CW. The interdigital delay line operates in a fundamental backward mode. A scale model (scale = 12) was built and used to characterize the delay line and to study the matching transformers. Afterwards a tube was constructed and tested, and has delivered up to 10 W in the band 72 to 101 GHz.
