Abstract :
Electron-beam technologies can be applied as diagnostic and technological tools simultaneously. This principle of “two in one” allows the potential for essential progress in developing such electron-beam techniques. The main purpose of the report is to analyse the opportunities raised by combining the technological and diagnostic aspects of electron beam application. Considered are examples of using the electron beam both as a technological and a probing tool in electron beam processing of metals and metal purification by vacuum zone smelting
