Abstract :
The polynomial equation (sI-A)R(s) + BQ(s) = In with (A, B) in the multicompanion controllable form is considered. The solution {R(s), Q(s)} is then explicitly determined, and, as an application, the transformation of certain well known polynomial matrices is given.
