Abstract
For the case of distinct maximum singular values, the major principal direction-alignment property enables the assessment of the stability margins of systems with scalar-block-structured perturbations. Here the principal direction alignment is shown to hold generally, and thus dictates necessary and sufficient stability conditions for systems with any number of perturbation blocks of arbitrary dimensions.
